We have had a busy start to term 1. Everyone enjoyed our health week - trying new fruits, learning about SHANARRI and developing our bike skills with Outfit Moray. P1/4 ended the week practising their skills on the bike ramps while P5/7 thrived on their Speyside Way cycle challenge. Everyone cycled 16 miles from Dufftown to Ballindalloch.
We started term 2 with our Trunk or Treat - where families decorate their car boots for Halloween and come dressed up in spooky costumes. We also enjoyed a walk along to Drumin Castle to pick apples with Mark the ranger. We had a super visit from Polly from the Cairngorm National Park to tell us about nocturnal animals.
We are now busy preparing for our St Andrews celebrations and learning our songs for our Christmas performance.
We ended the term with our fantastic Christmas performance, a trip to Eden Court to see the pantomime and our Christmas party!
We love walking along to the Community Orchard at Drumin Castle. Working with Mark the Ranger from the Glenlivet Estate, we harvest the apples and use them to make apple juice or baked goods. Mark ran a competition to design a new sign for the orchard. Charlotte's and Ethan's drawings were chosen and are now part of the new sign on display at the Community Orchard.
We had a snowy start to term 3 but have been busy with our learning. We have started a new topic around castles, been developing our symmetry and continued with our weekly outdoor learning. P5/6 have been learning the ukuele with Mrs Gillies. Our P5 cookery group have made cheesy filled potatoes and chicken katsu so far.
After the mid term, we will be starting our swimming block while our P7s are looking forward to their residential city break to Edinburgh.
